The Comedy Forum invited me to emcee for their New Years Eve shows. It was my first NYE gig I've done, and so I was really excited about it. The first show was almost entirely composed of people over 40, ready to get loose until 10:00 when they call it an early evening. Second show; I had to do some inside-joke for one of the regular customers. So I tried to work it into my set so that it would work for the entire crowd. The whole thing depended on me finding a guy named Ted in a table of 12 (1/2 male, 1/2 female). So I tried my best and thought I had figured out who this Ted guy was; but I was wrong. So the inside joke just laid there. Seriously, it went over like a fart in church. So that set wasn't the strongest I've had, because I was so busy trying to work in this inside joke (the lady gave me an extra ten bucks, so I felt obligated) but it's not like I didn't deliver a good set. It just wasn't a great set.
Check out my MySpace blog for jokes on which I'm working.
